SmartSight AI Fitness Coach — Privacy Policy

In short: SmartSight AI Fitness Coach has no user accounts and no servers that store your personal data. Your workouts, videos, progress photos, body measurements and food logs are held only on your own device. We cannot read them, and they are never uploaded to us.

This policy covers the SmartSight AI Fitness Coach app only. Cuisiq, our cooking and nutrition app, is a separate product with its own policy at smartsight.app/privacy/cuisiq.

Personal data we collect

None. There is no sign-up, no login and no profile held by us. We operate no backend that receives your training or health information. Because we never collect personal data, we do not sell it, share it with data brokers, or use it for advertising.

Data stored on your device

The app keeps the following on your phone, in its own private storage: exercise and set history, routines and programs, form scores, recorded technique videos, progress photos, body measurements and weight, food and water logs, meal plans and recipes, and your goal and app settings. Uninstalling the app removes this data.

Camera

The camera is the core of the coaching feature: it reads your body position to count repetitions and score your form. All pose analysis runs on your device. Camera frames are processed in memory and are not transmitted anywhere. The camera permission is requested only at the moment you start a feature that needs it, never at app start.

Photos and videos

Technique videos and progress photos you choose to save are written to the app’s private storage on your device. They are shown only to you, are not uploaded, and can be deleted individually inside the app or all at once by uninstalling it.

Microphone and voice

Voice control and the spoken coach are optional. When you enable them, speech is transcribed by a speech-recognition model that runs on your device. Audio is not recorded to a file, is not sent to us, and is not sent to any cloud speech service.

The AI coach

The coaching model runs entirely on your phone. Your questions and the training context the app gives it never leave the device. The model file itself is downloaded once, over HTTPS, from a public model host; that download requests a file and sends none of your data with it.

Health Connect (optional)

If you explicitly grant it, the app can read step count, and — as separate, individually granted permissions — sleep and resting heart rate, to improve calorie and recovery estimates. It can also write the nutrition and water you log back to Health Connect. This integration is off until you turn it on, is granted per data type, and can be revoked at any time in Android’s Health Connect settings. Data read this way is used on the device and is not sent to us.

Optional network requests

The app is designed to work fully offline. The only outbound requests are:

• Food barcode lookup. If you enable it and scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to the Open Food Facts database to retrieve product nutrition. No identifier of you or your device is attached. You can leave this off and enter foods manually or by scanning the nutrition label on-device.
• One-time AI model download. Fetching the on-device coach, voice and vision models when you set them up.
• Recipe import. Only when you paste or share a recipe link, the app fetches that page you chose in order to read its ingredients.

These requests reach the third party you are asking for data from, and are subject to that party’s own privacy policy. None of them carries your training, body or food history.

Purchases

Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment under its own terms and privacy policy; we never receive or store your payment details. The app only asks Google whether a purchase exists for the signed-in Play account.

Backups you create

You can export your data to a single encrypted backup file. That file is written where you choose. If you place it in a cloud folder or send it somewhere, it travels under that service’s terms — the app itself does not upload it.

No analytics, advertising or tracking

The app contains no advertising SDKs, no third-party analytics, and no cross-app or cross-site tracking. We do not build an advertising profile, and there is no identifier we use to follow you between apps or over time.

Retention and deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you control its lifetime. Individual entries, photos and videos can be deleted in the app; there are retention settings for recorded media; and uninstalling the app deletes everything it stored. As we hold no copy, there is nothing for you to request deletion of from us — but you are welcome to write to us with any question about this.

Children

The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, children included.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the effective date above and publish the new text at this same address.
